After years of hard work and investing well I had finally achieved my dream of buying a dream home in a gated community in the city I grew up in in Southern California and my wife was thrilled. During the course of the home construction the topic of an alarm system came up while I was talking to the contractor that was doing the work and I learned some surprising information from the builder, who had already built several homes in the same neighborhood.

He told me that although there was a guard at the gate and the gated community had its own security patrol it still had seen several home robberies over the course of the year, because upscale communities are the prime target of professional burglars. All of the windows and outside doors have trip sensors on them to block any entry through them once the system is armed and even if someone should make it that far the inside of the new home has hidden heat and motion detectors.

The place is secure as Fort Knox and with twenty-four hour a day monitoring by ADT Home Alarm Security personnel, my wife says that she doesn't feel so alone when I'm out of town on business. Its so easy to arm and disarm when anyone in my family is coming and going too, because it functions just like a car alarm with a small button that fits on everyones key chain.

There is still more then that, because it also comes with a fire alarm system that is operated by heat sensors that are located around the interior of the home that will automatically call the fire department if they sense high heat in the home. The kicker is that I save a full 20% on my home owners insurance costs because I go through ADT Specials. I have ADT decals on the windows of our home but Marty the security guard told me that community rules prevent me from putting the ADT sign in my yard. Besides, he said with a sly grin,"you have me to guard the community"
