4. What are a web page and a website?

A website A web page is an electronic document written in a computer language called HTML. Each web page has a unique address, called a URL, which identifies where it is located.

A website has one or more related web pages, depending on how it's designed. Web pages on a website are linked together through a system of hyperlinks. That way, you can jump between pages just by clicking on a link. On the Web, you navigate through web pages according to what interests you. This is called browsing or surfing the Net.

HTML
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, the computer language used to create web pages.

URL
URL is short for Uniform Resource Locator. It's the address for a web page. Your web browser uses this address to find the page on the Internet.

Hyperlink
Hyperlinks link web pages, sounds, pictures, and video on the Web. By clicking on a hyperlink, you jump to all sorts of cool things.
