One of my first reasons for looking into directv was the price. I know this is not a great reason, but making a jump from regular television (no cable) to directv was a big step; the effect on the pocketbook was very important. I like watching television, directv, from the brochures and the sales pitch sounded pretty good to me; turns out the price was okay too.

I did some shopping around for directv receivers, even though the local salesman offered me a fair price for the system, I ended up finding a good deal from an online retailer. I lucked in actually, there was a sale on directv receivers & dishes over the weekend (just after the holidays); I picked everything up for free.

I realize that there is much more to compare when looking into directv, satellite tv and what have you; but I am happy to say that even though I was looking for a bargain price, directv delivers on both its content and its quality.

I took a careful look at the services and decided to go all out with the premium packages that are offered in my area; I like watching movies, what can I say? Free installation as it turned out came with the premium directv service, what a bonus!

Even though I had to wait for a few days before the directv installation technician came to the house, I was impressed with his courtesy and professional attitude. It turned out that the sale had been keeping him busy with new installations; he wasn't complaining though; and with the more than reasonable price advertised I can see why so many people chose that time to purchase directv.

I was offered the option of owning or renting the directv unit; to be fair they are both reasonable offers, but I can say from my personal experience that it is better to own outright. I signed the papers and the installation man was on the roof installing my direct tv dish; just like that, like I said he was a professional and didn't waste any time installing directv.

Within the span of 30 minutes I went from a grainy national sub-standard broadcast to an assortment of movie channels, from five HBO to three Cinemax stations. I had it all, and directv brought it to me. There are children's channels for the kids and the boring soaps that my wife likes so much! Dollar for dollar, direct tv is the way to go if you like television.
