Netscape
Founded in 1994 by Jim Clark and Mark Andreessen, Netscape developed the first commercially successful web browser, Netscape Navigator. The browser, based on the Mosaic software from the National Center for Supercomputing, helped fuel the explosive growth of the World Wide Web. Netscape is now owned by America Online, but the company no longer provides technical support for the browser.
